Packaging your items properly

How to package items to prevent damage during transit.

5 min readUpdated 1 April 20263 sections

1Choose the right box

Use a sturdy box slightly larger than your item to allow for protective padding. Avoid reusing damaged boxes, and never ship fragile items in padded envelopes. The right container is the foundation of safe shipping.

2Protective materials

Use bubble wrap, packing paper, or foam padding to protect items from shock and movement. Fragile items should be wrapped individually, with additional padding on all sides. The item should not move when the box is shaken gently.

3Sealing and labelling

Seal all seams with strong packing tape. Apply shipping labels securely and clearly. For fragile items, add fragile stickers, though these do not guarantee careful handling. Include a packing slip inside with the buyer's order reference.
