Preventing disputes

Best practices that reduce the likelihood of disputes for both buyers and sellers.

1For sellers

Describe items accurately and thoroughly, disclose all flaws, use genuine photographs from multiple angles, package items securely, ship promptly with tracking, and communicate proactively. Sellers who do these things consistently experience very few disputes.

2For buyers

Read listings carefully, ask questions before buying, examine photos thoroughly, check seller ratings, communicate expectations clearly, and inspect items promptly upon arrival. Buyers who do these things rarely find themselves in dispute situations.

3For both parties

Most disputes stem from miscommunication rather than bad faith. Approach every interaction with clarity, patience, and good faith. Resolve small issues before they escalate, and treat every transaction as a reputation-building opportunity.
